Pencil & Paper Passion

In addition to graphic design, art is a fundamental love of mine and has been since I was a little girl. My Dad bought me a set of pastels, charcoal sticks and holder and a pad of sketching paper when I was very young. He encouraged me to draw and would often sit and draw with me. I still have the well loved (rather beat up) box of pastel nubbins and the charcoal stick holder and treasure them.
The process of creating art is incredibly gratifying and something I get completely lost in. And while creating art digitally is loads of fun, there's nothing like the smell of pencils and the scratch of pencil against paper.
I was recently inspired by a powerful photo of my Uncle Dean to translate it in graphite on paper. My Uncle's face evokes so much wisdom and life it was a joy for me to draw.
